The installation screw holes have a diameter of 3.8mm. The thickness of the cover is 1.8mm. The cover is highly polished.
Should I pre-drill holes for screws into the guitar body?

This question applies only to the production of a new guitar where the cover has never been installed... existing guitars, of course, already have the holes.
