Most fingerboards are curved. A traditional flat fret file only contacts the fret at one point, often without you knowing exactly where.

This palm-sized disk file, with a clearly defined point of applied force, directs power precisely to the desired spot. You can see exactly where you’re filing.

You may have been dressing frets with a straight file, relying on your instinct and experience. Without a precise view, this might have left corners unrounded or affected the fret radius compared to the fingerboard radius. The UFO can address all three aspects simultaneously: height, width, and curve.
