Mounting hole dimensions are 57.5 x 49.5mm, a rectangle with rounded corners radius R6 mm. The hole depth must be at least 33mm.

The plastic box consists of two main parts. The first one is stationary and is screwed to the guitar body with four included screws. The screws are mounted on top of the box, so they will be visible on the outside of the guitar.

The second part of the box consists of two independently movable 9V battery cases (the batteries are commonly referred to simply as 9-Volt, the technical name is 9V, shape 6F22, or 6LR61, or PP3). Each case includes two soldered wires, each 350mm long, red for +9V and black for -9V, so a total of four wires.

By the way, two batteries are usually used in higher-quality analog electronics, where it is necessary to have one positive voltage relative to ground (so-called Ground) and one negative voltage relative to ground. The common ground is created by connecting the black wire from one battery and the red wire from the other. In practice, it's as if only three wires were coming out of the two batteries: red for +9V, the two connected for ground, and black for -9V.

The wires do not have stripped ends. We recommend carefully stripping and pre-soldering their ends before installation. It's easier to do it on the table than inside the guitar.

Both movable parts will reveal their doors when flipped open. Note before opening that there are polarity marks on the battery doors, + and -. They are quite hard to see; some players have marked the plus side with red nail polish. We simply remember that the plus is on top.

The doors can be opened relatively easily without prying their button; just grasp them from the side between the thumb and forefinger and pull. After opening the doors, insert the 9V battery into the opening. It is very good practice to replace BOTH BATTERIES with new ones when replacing them.

Again... pay attention to the correct polarity, plus is on top!
